What To Expect On Your First Visit:
Consultation:
On your first visit to our office you will be welcomed as a member of the Arlington Animal Hospital family and our receptionist will greet you and your pet with a warm smile. You will then be asked to fill out our required forms which will help us gain some information about your pet and their condition. An Animal Technician will then place you and your pet in an exam room and obtain vital information on your pet such as body weight, temperature, etc.
Physical Examination:
The attending veterinarian will talk with you and ask you some specific questions regarding the presenting problem of your pet. After the doctor consults with the you, your pet will have a general medical examination. If the attending veterinarian can help your pet, they will let you know. If necessary, the doctor may take radiographs and run blood profiles to rule out conditions and to help establish a diagnosis. If the attending veterinarian or another veterinarina at our practice cannot help you, you will be refered to other specialitsts or services that will be able to help you the most.
Radiographs, Ultrasound and Blood Profiles:
Radiographs, sonograms and blood profiles are sometimes required to get a full evaluation of an animal patient. Since animals cannot speak diagnostic tests such as radiographs, sonograms and blood profiles are need to help rule out conditions and provide a diagnosis. The need for these tests are considered on a case by case basis. Our hospital is fully equipped with the lastest in state-of-the art digital radiology, ultrasound and laboratory equipment and results can often be obtained within an hour.
Report of Findings:
Once all the case information has been obtained and any required radiographs, sonograms and blood profiles have been performed, the attending veterinarian will throughly examine the information. Based upon the information the attending veterinarian will give you a report of the findings and provide you with recommendations for medical treatment, surgery and/or hospitalization of your pet.
Treatment:
Treatment may include injectables, medications, hospitalization and/or surgical correction to get your pet back into good health. All treatment recommendations will be discussed with you and you will have the ability to discuss options and treatment plans with the attending veterinarian. A plan of action will be determined and carried out upon your approval.
